As ive finsihed early again I figured I might as well start a thread on the race.

Some people seemed to have some problems with the custom cars and didnt get the full time to qualify.

A healthy feild of about 16 turned out for the first race of the season.

I dont like this track at all and with 2min to go in qualy I was in 5th.
Decided to put 2 laps worth of fuel in and try another lap and somehow fluked my way into 2nd

I lost one place on the first corner as I made a fairly poor start and PV made a very good one
But luckily for me PV and Dave (I think) had a coming together on the first corner and I scrambled into the lead

Dave started to catch me and although I did my best to keep him back he made a great move round the outside of the first corner to take the lead.

The order stayed pretty similar for quite a few laps untill diver944 caught me and after about 10 laps of trying got past me, only to get a big slide on a couple of laps later giving 2nd back to me.
He then followed me for ages trying very hard to get past, but this is a tough track to pass on.

Unfortunatley we had a coming together into the first corner and I went off into the wall
Im not sure if he just braked too late, or if I came accross infront of him, but it was definately a racing incident.

I got back on the track fairly quickly, but the car didnt feel quite right (something was bent).

Diver944 very kindly waited for me to pass leaving me in 4th behind FWD (I think)

Braking into turn 2 in the normall place the car span on me. I couldnt catch the spin and went hard into the wall. Suspention was terminally damaged and I had to retire from the race

Great fun but a bit dissapointing that my car was damaged after the crash, but nothing could be done.

I pitted for my second stop go, then got DQ'd.... The only thing I can think is that I got two stop go's in quick sucession (i did go offroading a bit) so I didn't get the second warning.

Oh well... Mental note, no practice and 6 bottles of lager is not the way to ensure a good league performance.

Yep very sorry Holst it was more my fault than yours I'd been on your tail in 3rd place for about 15 laps trying every which way to get past or put you off but it was nigh on impossible. On lap 24 you had a poor exit onto the start/finish so I thought I'd try to dart to the inside at the last moment. I just tapped you as you turned in and unfortunately pushed you off. I thought the others were way behind so waited for you but we dropped down to 4th and 5th as Mike and FWD came past

We immediately all went wide at the 2nd corner (you into the tyres) but the rest of the race stayed very rigid until the last lap when FWD ran out of fuel on the last corner and I came 2nd

I ran out of fuel on the last corner of the last lap, mental note *do not believe the laps/time your load of fuel will give you.

I set mine to 37 laps worth for a 32 laps race. I think some people had more and still ran out of fuel but they probably took some wider lines through the corners

I had 40 laps worth and had the red light on for the last 4 laps, I was thinking about a splash and dash but couldn't be bothered. I then got really worried when on my last lap I came accross abandoned cars around the track and my posision was flying up the finishing order

would wite more but got to go to bed

Excellent racing through, and sorry to the 2 people i nerfed

The results.txt seems to have gone tits up

So I will have to manually go through it all - which means the results will be quite a bit longer until they are online

Or we could say this was the final test and start the league next week with the first race at the next venue, instead of doing the same track?

Happy to drop this track entirely

Had Dave not lapped me I would have sailed past 3 other cars who had run out of fuel on the final lap... I seemed to have loads left so clearly I wasn't using my right foot enough!

I think there are some gaps in some peoples recorded details, looking at the graphs there are laps missing, this might have screwed up the the results.txt file.

This week's tale of woe is shorter than normal, so let's get cracking.
I got there late, hit the grid later than late, managed a grand total of one corner and must have been pretty near the back when I piled into the tyres at the end of the straight, hard. I think I lost a wheel. Into the pits for a two minute stop, lots of clanking from the back of the car, then I picked up a stop/go for speeding out of the pits, by now 3 laps down. Heading back into the pits, TBH I didn't give the auto-driver much of a chance at the hairpin, and he pronged the ferrari on the pitlane armco. Stuck fast.
Still, at least I wasn't last
Looking forward to round 2

Couldn't make it due to a variety of late home, pc in bits, hungry and tired But I will return, us backmarkers are important dontcha know! This is why I never have an issue with fuel, as I never do the full race How much fuel should you add do you think? +20% over its recommendation?
