Steering wheel.....
Discussion
I started with a Driving Force - it's somewhat basic.
Then for a long time I had the Driving Force Pro ("DFP"
and was very happy with it. It's a great value-for-money wheel.
Now I've got a G25 and it's better again - I particularly wanted the clutch/shifter arrangement but entire experience is better than the DFP.

Is it possible to remove the desk clamps completely from one of those - i saw the ps2 version in game the other day for £40 and am interested.

I don't about this one, but it is a Logitech wheel - Formula Force at Amazon for £39.

I just tried on my older model and it isn't - the clamps are designed so they don't come out of the unit. However, there are clearly visible screws on the unit itself, so I should imagine taking it apart is fairly easy. Whilst we're on the subject of disassembling these, does anyone know where I can get a new bearing for mine from?

Yes you can.
Look at the attached pic, r/h end, undoe the top thumbscrew and clamp will pull away from underside (same for the l/h end)
I bought a Driving Force Pro last week for my PS3 and I am disappointed with it. My old Logitech used to vibrate when you went over the armco or had a collision which made it a bit more realistic on formula 1 games and on gran turismo. However, the DFP doesn't and I really annoyed seeing as it cost £70!
Does anyone know if it should vibrate? Anyone else had the same problem?
