I started the download at approx. 2:30pm. It's now 5:40pm and it's only 18% complete....

Well I started it earlier so hopefully when I get home from work it will be done.
I just hope the sound is good.

Mine got to 12% before proclaiming "connection lost." First time I've ever seen that. Everything else is working, so the problem must be at their end.

Started mine at about 8pm - left it over night and this morning at 6.30am was 98% - very slow but hopefully worth the wait.

Should keep me entertained until the 8th June when Forza is out! biggrin

Any idea on a release date for DIRT?

Played it this morning, not bad! graphics are nice, but only played it with the keyboard as I was in a rush to go to work.

Ok I had a quick go with it this morning:
(Didn't hook the M$ wheel up, just the pad)

Graphics - Amazing, really really sharp and detailed (+ fire!) cockpit views exceptional.
Gameplay - Good but very arcade, still, great great fun
Damage - WOW WOW WOW
Sound - plenty of backfire, sound of the exhausts/engine is OK but not completely realistic.
Interface - Stunning, very lush and slick.

This is going to be a brilliant game and the perfect partner to FM2.

Cant wait to be thrashing around in Group B and Hill Climbing monsters.

It's quite frantic isn't it? Although I can't work out how to get manual gear change...

With the FF on the wheel turned right up it's almost a workout! I'm not the smoothest rally driver, so I'm constantly fighting at the wheel - great stuff!

Yep, despite the widely publicised "all new physics engine", it still feels like like the crappy central pivot model they've always used. Try the buggies - whilst the throttle does have a function, it appears only tangentially related to the rotation of the rear wheels.

Compare it back to back with the Forza 2 demo - In comparison dirt has no momentum, little steering feel, and conveys barely any sense that there are four wheels beneath you.

Sufe, it's very pretty, and the interface is slick. As it stands, not a hope of getting me to part with cash. Maybe there will be a sim mode in the full game.

Oh dear, another looks good, but handles crap game from them then.

I hear the PC version has that evil starforce protection too to mess up peoples PC's. I wonder if the console version gets that too.
