Just picked up my Wii

He he absolutely mental fun.
Had played one before (at a mates house at christmas) HMV with Zelda £220.
Was stupid to buy one, but it was such bloody brilliant fun!!
Can't personally see why anyone would buy a PS3 or X360 (i have a gaming pc) such great fun, so different, so awesome!
Just need to get the internet sorted now, had a quick play, connected to the router but it didn't wanna play ball with the net...
Oh well, tomorrow will be fun!
And i'm shattered from Wii Sports

Yeah it's great fun!
When I've worked out the friends thing I'll add my name to it!
Just d/loaded the web browser and stopped by PH and then got on with playing
Awesome fun!
Take a look at the "pit babes" thread via the Wii - The zoom function makes for great viewing on a 32" screenWhen I've worked out the friends thing I'll add my name to it!

Awesome fun!
Apparently.
Yep, I errr didn't jsut look at that
I'm loving the Wii anyway!
Ummm what games have you guys got and what are they like?
I'm unsure about CoD3 (I've always played them on PC and preferred it), I want Red Steel and maybe the new Resi 4 (I have the GC version) but yeah any other suggestions?
I bought zelda with it.... epic
It's like being a kid again and playing Ocarina of Time (well not quiteas good!)
Thanks.

I have a Wii and a 360 - to be honest they compliment each other well. The Wii is good for me and the kids to have fun and there's some classic games on the virtual console. I've been playing Zelda Twilight Princess which is a good game also... The 360 though offers more in terms of power and choice - you can't imagine Forza 2 or Gears of War running on the Wii could you?! I don't see the Wii as next gen though - the controller scheme is unique but in reality the Wii is little more powerful than the gamecube. For me next gen is about the power, the graphics, storage...

...I disagree. There's more to next gen gaming than graphical prowess, otherwise, we may as well all just use a mega PC for everything. The Wii has 'next gen' interactivity and is a truly original (if fairly simple) concept. The next step should be affordable VR headsets that can be used in conjunction with the console!

Looking back to the virtual boy and the sickness that it brought out in people, I can't see Nintendo making that same mistake again.
I agree that the Wii controller is pretty innovative, but it could also be a short-term gimmick, I've been an avid gamer all my life, but the Wii has sat downstairs by my TV for months without being touched, the pads go round my mates every month or so for a quick play on Wii Sports, but it's just another TV-side ornament at the moment, whilst I cram in quality time with the PS3 and 360.

I agree with what you are saying but perhaps where Nintendo have got it right and the others are wrong is they are all meant to be GAMES machines not the all singing all dancing media hub that the others are aiming at. Its a clever, more in depth marketing strategy than it appears on the surface.

Red steel is a bit arse and I'm unsure about Resi 4 with the controller, you're probably better off playing the gamecube version with the gamecube controller on it. Mario Strikers is great fun and Warioware: Smooth Moves is a good laugh.
Ok, sorry to pick but what is "arse" about it? Maybe just pick up a cheap 2nd hand one?I've got Resi 4 on GC so i'm not too bothered.
And to the other comments, the Wii is surely the future.... Graphics aren't the be and end all of gaming and lets face it cost comes in big time!!
For the price of a PS3 I could have a new mobo, new RAM, 6000+ and an 8800GTS.
Hmmmmm which of those?

But like I said I have a gaming PC that certainly seems to be more reliable than a 360.
But with regard to the "Wii doesn't do whatever" why are people so hung up on this?
I have a computer for the internet, a DVD player etc. etc. tbh I don't give a shit if it does or doesn't

Oh and on a completely random note, just saw your name "Andy G Bmth" whereabouts in Bmth are you from?
Almost positive I saw your car the other day

Luke
Anyhow more Wii again soon!

I think the market place has room for both. The Wii is a fun little toy, you'd be quite happy to let the kids loose on it (supervising to make sure they don't shove the remotes in to each other) and play Zelda or something else. On the other hand the 360 is more of an adult toy. You wouldn't want the kiddies playing GoW or similar. LukeBird said:

Dunno. I guess everyone is expecting a 360 beater or something. LukeBird said:

And that's pretty much Nintendo's response to people asking why the Wii doesn't do X.
