Hey peeps, just wondering if any of you have acquired a copy of dirt yet for the 360, as I see it's now out from a random looky on play's site earlier and if it's any good I may go see if I can find it over here and part with some yoyo's...

There's a demo up on Live if you want to try before you buy.....

I downloaded it a couple of weeks back but haven't got around to trying it yet.

Cars feel far too floaty and have way too much grip, doesn't feel like a rally game to me. Graphics are very pretty, but i'd prefer something along the lines of Richard Burns Rally.

I've decided to hold out for now at least and see if the reviews improve, the too floaty feel reply above has kinda put me off even downloading the demo laugh

have you ever tried braking on the loose stuff?!?!

the cars in dirt brake like F1 cars!!!!!! i didnt know there was so much grip on the dirt, plus the car pivot around the center line kind of like a insect on a pin! ratther pivoting around the front wheels very bad reminds me of V-Rally on the PlayStation frown

its shite frown

Exactly. Rather ironically when I had a go at rallying at the school over in Silverstone I can remember thinking to myself how similar it felt to playing Colin McCrae 2, the slides feeling very familiar to me, how they can lose their way so completely and get the feel so wrong now is beyond me.

Less hermit and more horribly disappointed.

Total let down: undynamic and unrealistic. The car handling is so poor compared to realism - I've drifted plenty of cars, both 4WD and RWD, and Dirt is just plain dirt. Steering snaps to the centre and immediately re-aligns the car to centre! WTF is that about!!

It's weird, 'cos Kotaku made a big hoo-hah about how about the new physics, and implied that they'd dropped the central pivots point from the physics model - http://kotaku.com/gaming/dirt/mcraes-dirt-gets-new...

It's weird, 'cos my recollection is that even CMR1 was felt better that DiRT. What a shame they can't get it right.

I`m quite enjoying it smile The menu is great, the stages look good. That`s about it. The co-drivers voice is annoying and the cars handle pants though the rear wheel drives are good fun. The more I played it the better it got but I cant see me being on it much longer as Forza2 is calling me back.

Overall 7/10, for the fun factor.
