Is a 360 worth buying for FROZA?
Discussion
I would love to get a 360 but am a little loathed as I am unsure there are many games out there which will truly entertain me.
With all this talk about Forza 2 I am starting to wonder that I am missing out on somthing.
I do own a standard xbox with Forza1 which is an amazing game. Has the game moved on that much? How? What one thing do you like about the new game which the old one did not have?
Just curious really as a new GAMESTATION has opened up very near me and they have some second hand 360s at very good prices.

I'd never buy a console for just one game, there are alot of other things you can do with your 360 however. I for one use mine as a media centre streaming content from my PC to my room wirelessly, it works pretty good.
I'd try Dead Rising, Fight Night Round 3, Forza 2 and PGR 3 Hours of fun!

Well I bought my 360 back in November 06 for one game - Gears Of War - I played it one evening at a friends house and the next morning I had my own 360 and copy of GoW....I guess it's all down to personal taste...
Do you know anyone local to you that has F2 for the 360, one way to find out for sure if YOU think it's worth it is to try it yourself - even pop round to the new Gamestation store and tell them you want a decent blat on one of their systems in store on F2...if they're keen enough to make a sale they should let you fire away for a while no problem

I bought a 360 last year for DOA4, waiting for Ninja Gaiden 2 before I buy a second game for it.
Other than Forza 2 there haven't been any interesting games for it, although Soul Caliber 4 is due out at some point soon!
Tempted to buy a PS3 for Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
Every game these days seems to be first-person-shooters which I hate or are bland driving games.

You would be a fool not to get one, all the next generation games are coming out now, and going to kick ass on the ps3, so many ps3 owners are pissed as there are no decent games!
I used to be a Sony owner, but xbox is next level, especially with the windows connectivity, watching movies slideshows the works all through your xbox on your tv, theres so much on it now and so much still to come, its mega!
Well worth it and u can pick up some good bargins on ebay!
DO IT!!!!

Must admit ive been a bit disappointed in the XBox360 since I got it. Project Gotham was a poor game, exept the addition of the McLaren. It just seemed like an original XBox game in Hi Def. But Forza2 is a whole different kettle of fish. Im absolutely blown away by it. Best driving game bar none. It has seriously raised the bar.
P.S Done the Gran tourismo games and enjoyed them but they just dont come close

for a little over 200 quid you can have arguably the best on and offline sim available- all pc sims included.
the price of an average pc graphics card.
I had a spectacular online game with 4 friends of mine last night.
The game was easy to setup, we could all chat with no lag or break up, and we played for well over 2 hours with some hilarious races all saved on replay.
The game is even better with the Microsoft ff wheel if you can get one. Ive played all the driving games pc/playstation and xbox and overall I really think this is the best so far. You need to play it for a bit to appreciate the amount of development turn 10 put into it.
If you like driving get it.

My mate had been holding out since I got mine at Xmas. I told him about forza when the demo came out. He emailed me at 6pm last nite to say he'd got it, then this at 10.30pm:

Initial impressions :
Unit – very nice form factor. Big brick of a PSU though! Fan a bit noisy but I already knew that.
Controller – lovely lovely lovely! I really like the analog triggers for accelerate & brake in Forza 2. Also the analog D pad seems to work very well. The return to xbox main menu is a bit odd but I’ll get used to it.
OS – basic setup was very easy. NAT settings are moderate so not sure if online play will work correctly. I’ve just set UDP and TCP 3074 port forwarding to the xbox so it might work now.
Forza 2. OMFG! It’s very slick, and 1080p with no slowdown. I like the physics – drifting a 350Z is cool.

So in answer to my origional post, Yes it is worth it.
So the next question would be where can one get the best deals? Gamestation do have some good second hand bundles but with the number of 360;s breaking after 12 months should I be worried about buying a second hand unit?
eBay could be a good way to go as there seems to be loads available and there are always deals to be had on eBay.
How good is the wireless equipment for the 360? I could use a wire but my connection point to the TV is a good 10m around the edge of the room which would just be a ball ache

I had a friend round on Thursday to play Forza. He was waiting for GT5 and is a big playstation fan. Had a call from him yesterday giving me his new gamertag and asking for some online races.
Forza 2 seems to have been the tipping point for my 'Playstation-only' friends. Two bought a 360 this week and another is still scratching his chin, but won't be able to resist much longer when we're all having fun.riwiho said:

the wireless is very good...mine will turn on my 360 from the upstairs bedrooms (the xbox is in the living room) So the next question would be where can one get the best deals? Game are doing the premium for £279 with Forza 2 and Virtua Tennis. I'm sure you can find it slightly cheaper elsewhere, but the good thing about buying from game is that if the machine does go tits up before the 12 months are up they will just replace it there and then, no faffing around with sending it off to Microsoft.
