Not that anyone I have raced with from here has used it, but it might be an idea to keep the Elan out of PH tuned car races until this is fixed. I had wondered how the Elan was dominating even the C and B classes on the scoreboards.

The Lotus Elan Problem: Lastly, we're aware of the Lotus Elan performance index bug that pushes the car beyond the limits of a typical D class (and in some cases, C class) car. We will be addressing this with a patch in the near future. Until that time, it looks like the Hot Lap scoreboards will be dominated by the Lotus Elan. Sorry. If you're hosting multiplayer games, be sure to discourage folks from using this car as it could seriously decimate the balance of your race.

I dunno how people are doing it (pimping hired drivers with multiple xboxs, then sending money via the Auction House is the only non-glitch way I can see it), but there are people selling 10 million credits via Ebay every few minutes. Turn 10 have said that anyone participating in an ebay auction of credits or cars with have their xbox live account banneded, and same goes for Auction House abuse (selling/buying cheap cars at inflated buyout prices so as to transfer credits).

BTW, how are you doing hired races? Do you have a wired controlled? My goes into pause when my controller turns off, which means I can't get on with other things.

So if I hire a driver with the "plug & play" charger pluged in will it still go into pause mode?

No, but if you're a cheapskate just use an elastic band to hold one of the controller sticks over smile

I've used the elan and it's a cracking little car but there is a bug, if you do all of the chassis upgrades minus the weight reduction then do an engine swap. Your PI should be in class C, if you then do the weight reduction it drops you into class D which is a joke.

The problem is the car is so damned light that it's going to be quick.

According to the official forums plugging in the play and charge kit will stop the controller turning itself off as thats the way loads of them are doing the endurance races. I will see it that works when I get in (set the race up then go and have some dinner etc)

It works - I've been doing just that and leaving the hired driver (whom I have dubbed Tarquin biglaugh ) to do enduro races while I'm off doing other stuff.

as i said, my Elan has the original engine with a couple of mods.. so i dont think it conforms to this 'cheat' does it?

Unfortunately, yes it does. The elan shouldn't be that quick and in that class, it should be up against mid range class C, maybe higher. Think about what class you'd put a 150ish brake car weighing 600kg
