Wanted - Super NES / SNES

I never had one. I had a(n) NES, and went on to be bought an Amiga 600 by my parents. That took me through until I bought a Pentium PC that had just come out, when I went to University.

I have suddenly decided that I want one. They're only cheap, and I fancy Super Mario World, Super Probotector and the like. Has anyone got one that they've not thrown away, that I can buy off them?

PM me if you have it, with 2 original controllers, cos the ones on ebay with non-genuine controllers look awful!!

I know about ebay; I joined it years ago. I just wondered if anyone on here wanted to sell one rather than me buy one off ebay...

you have to be really careful with the nes, the power supplies are a bit erm duff, and also the edge connectors didn't stand the test of time, so you get the dreaded flashing powerlight instead of mario.

if you go the bootfair route assume the nes wont be working! megadrive 1 psu's also work on the nes.

We used to sell loads of 2nd hand nes's in our shop in the uk

I don't want a NES, I only want the SNES. They'll be newer for sure. Are they any more relaible?

Got one from my flat mate last year (a SNES) for my birthday! My first one too!

Only got one controller though at the moment. Need to get MarioKart but having a hard time finding it.

Yes, but still suffer from dodgy psu's, also easy to mod to play us games and clock to 60htz.

unless you see it working still assume it doesn't!

Have you thought about getting SNES emulator software. There are a few around and a quick search on google will help.

Apparently, so I'm told, you can also download all the game "roms".

as they are cartridge based they do ware out, the psu's are standard and you can replace them with a multi jobbie from maplin.

Always good to have a spare floating around

Playing emus is never as good as the real thing. The roms are also illegal despite lots of people claiming otherwise.

just walk into game station, say "i would like a snes and some games please" wait 10 min while they dig one out and fill a warranty form (oh yes, a years warranty on all second hand consoles) and then hand them 30 quid.

I have just telephoned my local branch of Gamestation. They have two in. SNES plus game (and the warranty!) for "under £30". That'll do nicely!

just get a snes emulator from bittorent.. loads fo games, and you can ever get a snes pc controler on www.j-box.com

but theres so much more to owning a classic... theres a buzz you get from turning it on and loading the cartridges that you don't get from an emulator...

I loved Mario Kart....Me & my mates spent almost a year or 2 on that little number...it`s still as enjoyable today....

Could always get a wii, modern console with a lot of the top flight classic SNES games available to LEGALLY download onto the console.
