Xbox 360, Forza 2 & Microsoft Wheel: Anything Else Needed?

My Buddy needs a place to stay for a couple of weeks and insists on paying me rent, i feel pretty tight taking his money so we agreed that he would buy me some cool stuff instead.
I've been thinking about getting a 360 for a while and have been reading all the Forza 2 posts on here so have decided that this could be a decent investment! What i'm after is some advice about any 'extras' that i 'need'.
I'm aiming to get the full on 360 (not the 'core') so is there anything not included in the box that i need?
I had a wheel for my PS1 and GT years ago but it was a bit crap, what is the wireless Microsoft wheel like and is it worth the £80 when used with Forza?
What other bits should i get with the 360? Are there any leads or pad battery packs that are worth getting straight away?
I've already got a Live subscription for my Xbox, can i transfer this onto a 360?

I must say, I'm impressed with the wheel... It certainly needs a bit of re-calibration of the brain to be able to be quick with it.. You can't be quite as bullish with the cars with the wheel as you can with the joypad, but that's only because you have to work harder if you get the car out of shape..
I think it does promote a smoother driving style, but it will take a little time before you get to grips with it properly, I'm back on form with my arcade laps after a couple of hour long sessions... I'd recommend finding something to anchor the wheel to, it can be a bit of a handful on your lap! The mounting hardware is nicely designed and the wheel can be clipped out of the bracket without any stress.
As far as straight line stability is concerned, I've experienced no problems.. I'm beginning to find that it's a lot easier to hold the line into and out of corners, being able to progressively wind lock on and off seems to make a big difference!
A point of note, full blown force feedback ownly works when running the wheel on mains power.. Rumble is there on batteries, but the wheel will provide little or no resistance!

Cheers for the info! Is the 'spare play and charger' an extra battery for the controller? Do you have any experience with the MS wheel?
You can get a usb cable which plugs into the controller and the xbox (or spare usb port on hub, laptop etc.) You can also get a spare battery pack with a charger so you can play wirelessly while the duff pack is charging.

Anyway, the playseat is kind of cool although it's not quite as rigid as some of the more
expensive seats i believe.I also didn't like the way the wheel clamped on as it sat quite high.
I removed the lap rest part from the wheel, took off the base, drilled some holes in the play seat and through
four unused plastic holes (well, they are almost holes) in the wheels base and quickly screwed it to the
play seats wheel plate.It's far more comfortable like this.
You can see in the first pic how i did have it fitted and how it now is.With the pedals i just used the
velcro that came with tnem for now but may remove that later on as i want to try my PC wheel on it too.
It does take some getting used to though.I love using the pad on Forza (no assists) and today i had a go of the wheel
properly for the first time and it will be a while before i am comfortable using it and am as quick as
i can sometimes be on the pad.

Of course this is warranty voiding stuff, so don't attempt this if you are concerned about it breaking..

No mate, been using the pad.I got the wheel and chair months ago and just couldn't get on with it.So have you ben using the pad in online races up to now?
I then thought about bolting on the wheel and decided to finaly do it this morning.
With a bit of tweaking to get a feel you prefer it is a nice bit of kit though.I just
want to stiffen up the part of the play seat the wheel sits on now and try to get that rock solid
'fixed to a desk' feeling if i can.

How small does it fold away? I have the 360 downstairs at the moment, and I kind of dont think the missus will like it permanently sat in the middle of the living room.
I think I need the seat, as the wheel and pedals just dont seem to be easy to use on the settee, so they are a waste of time really without some sort of seat.
