Ok, im new to Console gaming.. more of a PC Gamer personally. Anyway, in the evenings when the wife is out and the baby is asleep, im finding myself in need to stimulation. I was thinking of getting a console.
Now, in theold days, it was a sega meggadrive .. but these days with play station 3000's and XYZ Boxes .. and Wii thingies ... im at a loss.
Forza looks cool, i would like to join you lot on the track, maybe also a nice first or third person shoot em up game ... flight sim / archade stuff etc....
The questio is .. Which one ?
Any recommendations ? X Box or PS2 / 3 ?? or Wii ??

I got a PS3 which is great but still waiting for a vast amount of games to come out, I got a 360 that
ed up back in may but will be sorted due to the change with microsoft's warrenty and my mums got a Wii.
PS3 and 360 geat, 360 more games but I also love the PS3 and now I got a 1080p LCD its great for movies too.
but if you just want great gameplay then get the Wii. Beats both hands down on gameplay and how long they last. But the graphics and sounds is nothing compared to the other 2

You say it beats both hands down with gameplay and how long they last, but the last game I played on my Wii was Warioware back in January which got about 3 days worth of play. My 360 is the one I go to 90% of the time, Guitar Hero 2 has sucked me in again and I can't stop playing it.
As a PC gamer are you looking for gameplay or graphics?
As has already been said, the Wii is very much for the Gameplay side (I have one and absolutely love it!, one of the best (prob even the) best I have played.
I have a fairly hefty PC for gaming so the PS3 or 360 doesn't interest me....
Although I'll certainly concede if you want a console for mega graphics then 360 or PS3 is what you're looking for!

But does it not depend on what you like and what intrests you. U like Guitar Hero I don't like it. you like 360 and I like the 360, Ps3 and wii. I try not to be baised and make the most of what I have. as posted depends on what you want and what you like. I do enjoy Pc online games such as Battlefield 2 and so on but get pissed that the Pc stops working fior no reasona nd I can't sort it out

Forgot to add... Home pC I have a very powerful Home PC, serves me well for work and also for Warcraft / stratergy games.
I guess I want shoot em ups ... I want car racing .. my last go on a console was GT2 and rage racer on the PS1.. before then it was sonic on a Megga Drive !
I guess game play, awsome GFX, awsome sound ... playability is what im looking for.

PS3 is due a 50 quid or so price cut (350) but still lacks games.
360 is due a price cut and new updated hardware (September?), price cut ikely to happen sooner. Great games, good controlers, most 'PC like' in games library.
Wii wont have a price drop (selling all they can make), some fun games tho personaly I'm not convinced I want o sit down for hours playing a game with the wiimote, 30min of bowling IS fun though,

Have you plyed any of the other games other than Wii Sports?I find the bowling vaguely interesting at the best of times, but the tennis is far better (IMO of course!
) but Zelda is far and away more fun than that! That's the true test, there were times when I was playing Zelda when I wondered to myself why I didn't just buy the gamecube version as I really wanted a conventional pad to play it with, aiming arrows and slashing the sword with a remote was fun for a while, but the novelty had started to get pretty thin after 60 hours on it.
I bought a Wii first but after a while it pissed me off. The control system is fun for social gaming with some friends but for anything else its just annoying. Who wants to play a FPS where you have to constantly hold your hands up in the air and point at the screen. Red Steel was the worst for this played it for 1 level and hated it. Zelda was okay but I hear the dreamcast version was better.
Exchanged the Wii for a Xbox360 and love it. Wish Id bought ones ages ago, don’t think I’ve played games on a console as much since PS1.
Don’t have a PS3 but the lack of games really puts me off. Although Blue Ray seam to be available to rent from most video shops now, which if you have a HD telly makes it tempting.

The xbox 360 probably has the best choice of games out there - and there are a lot that are bargin basement prices now (unlike the PS3 and Wii).
But it depends on what your after, the Wii is probably more interactive, but with a baby will you want to be bouncing around? The PS3 stunning to look at, but very limited games on offer...

Oh that is a lazy gamer!
I just lay on the sofa when i'm playing zelda and point from there

Jump around when i'm playing Wii sports though!
And there was no Dreamcast version of Zelda (not that i've ever heard of anyway!)
Never played the 360 but I gather those that have enjoy them.
I've got a PS3 and although there is a lack of quality titles at the moment, the games I do have are enough to keep me occupied in the limited time I have available to play. That and the fact it's a blu-ray player means i'm more than happy with it.

The pointing at the screen isn’t a problem with Zelda, its with FPS when you need to point at it constantly.
