Forza 2 Car handling/gearing model accuracy
Discussion
I've noticed that the accuracy of various cars in Forza 2 is quite patchy. Certainly the gearing on the S2000 is all wrong. Also the power is too. Doing the nurburgring, in real life up Kesselchen I can only reach 121mph. This is in 5th, the red line in 4th is 118mph. I deliverately entered the straight slower, yet managed to reach 135mph without any problems. And only had to change up at 125mph.
Yet the Integra DC-5 is much more representative of the real DC-5, the gearing for one being spot on.
I'm interested in hearing from owners of other cars as to how accurate their cars models in the game are.

Mini is almost spot on with gears, not sure about actual performance though?Yet the Integra DC-5 is much more representative of the real DC-5, the gearing for one being spot on.

When designing the game I performance is easier to measure - stick some telementary on a car and hammer it through the gears, job done.
The handling is more difficult to simulate and I guess that the developers chose a happy medium.
For instance, a slight difference in grip coming out of the last corner, maybe due to tyres, friction from the surface, temperatue, weight, condtion of car/tyres etc etc would be very difficult to get spot on, hence the speed difference.
