I hope someone can help - as im plugging away at Resident evil on the Wii (pretty impressed, though I expected better graphics TBH..)

Firstly, is there any way to Strafe? Its driving me nuts!!

Other than that, it comes down to the collectables.

The gems (ruby's etc) - can I sell these to the merchant? IIRC in the old games, you couldnt sell anything you needed for the quest - is this stil the case?

The same question for the 'treasures' - obviously I used one to open a door - so things like the mask im worried about selling incase I need it!

oh, and now I have the punisher, can I sell the standard 9mm? I was going to, but the punisher is worth more, with less firepower (0.9 vs 1.0), so i cant decide whether to sell the standard and upgrade the punisher or not?

Any other tips for playing the game?

Well, haven't played the Wii version but do have the GC version.
One quick q, do you like it on Wii? Not sure if I want to buy it!
But anyhow your questions,
Can't remember if you can strafe, sorry!
Yeah I sold those gems to the trader, don't think they are any use.
I don't think you can sell anything you need for the game!
Can't remember what I did with the weapons, just keeped as many as possible! smile

You can't strafe. But you've got limited bullets so accuracy is somewhat important. There have been a couple of times where I've been on the verge of running out, but the game adapts and gives you more in the various breakable boxes/vases.

I was wondering about the gems and treasures too - by chapter 4 there seemed to be no use for them, so they got sold. Some gems fit into other items (like the mask) to make them more valuable.

I was initially holding on to the weapons but even after upgrading them and buying bigger cases to hold everything in, I ended up having to sell the less powerful ones.

Its a different experience to the previous games on the PS2, and different from FPS on the xbox - though not really in a bad way.

If anything, its more engrossing (though RE always was) - but the aiming with your right arm while moving with your left certainly adds a new depth to the gameplay.

Overall im impressed - I just wish I could strafe!!!

Well I'll probably buy it then!
I've got Resi Zero, Resi and Resi 4 on GameCube so I certainly like them!
Be interested to see how it compares to the GC version. smile

It is a very addictive and engrossing game, yes the graphics could be better but thats not what wii is about. I would recommend this game to anyone with wii.

What is strafe?

you can stick gems onto crowns and sceptres and stuff to make them more valuable to sell. Ive never played it but my pal LeeBee has.

Which big guy, the one who grabs you by the neck and then you burn him into a monster?

Shoot his spine loads and keep as far away as possible

ETA fully load all guns before you go in
