Ouch thats going to uoset a lot of people. That is quite a delay to as if they are going for a October release I would expect the game to be almost completed by now, so it must be no where near done.

I wonder if that will be the end of Take 2!!

Thats a pain, Rockstar are usually pretty good at getting games finished on time, from memory I can't remember any of them being overly late, they're always released around October/November. Must be a serious problem to have moved it back by nearly a year though.

I have a sneaking suspicion the delay is a financial decision. They've probably realised they have no decent product coming out in Fiscal 2008.

It's not financial, they are changing from a prediction of breaking even this year, to taking quite a loss by pushing it back, Rockstar themselves have said that developing for both systems simultaneously is troubling for them, the reports were flying around that the PS3 version was 2 weeks behind the 360 one and then there is all the reported problems about fitting all of the game onto a single DVD for the 360.

Cant understand the financial issues.

Surely someone like Rockstar has the same cycle;

Spend loads of dosh developing a game, paying designers, advertising it etc etc then on release day they sit back and watch the dosh roll in.

So, they are making a loss in devloping the game? No !!

Am I missing something? Surely for an outfit that releases some of the best games every couple of years this is nothing new.

Thats annoying. Pretty much the only game I was looking forward to. I was hoping for a better racing game than Forza, but I don't see that happening either.

Bloke takes random guess that PS3 version will be more sophisticated? Assuming your suggesting the PS3 version will be better than the "basic" 360 version, since when is a platform being harder to develop for a good thing?

The 360 version is the one that Rockstar have chosen to use for all the demos, video trailers and screenshots. That suggests to me that the PS3 is where the holdup is. Also, they've said that for the full experience, the 360 is the one to get, albeit in the context of the extra "episodes" that are 360 exclusive.

had quite a long play on a PS3 yesterday.
Played the GT HD demo...quite pretty, drove a mk1 mx5, a car that Ive owned before and driven recently.
Lets just hope that this isnt the physics model they are using for GT5, because its pathetic.

Also played motorstorm..good graphics but got boring quickly.

Blueray demo of Casino Royale was nice, but overall I wasnt impressed especially looking at the utter lack of games.
None of the games I saw that were also on 360, looked much better if at all.
A super special version of GTA might have swayed me, but now thats out for a while, I might spend some cash on my PC.

Nothing to touch Forza 2 by miles.

I think its great but it has a LOT of shortcomings. IMO.

oh well I suppose at least it'll save me some dosh, and means i dont need to make the ps3/360 decision untill next year gives me time to get around to finishing gta/sa and vcs
