So, this is a little bit irrelevant as I don't even have a PC outside of work at the moment, but what's the best driving sim these days and just how realistic has it got?

The best one I've encountered (going rather old school here) is Grand Prix Legends. Admittedly, I've never driven a 1960s F1 car (surprisingly smile) but the general physics model seemed very believable.

Console wise, the best I've encountered was GT3 - atleast in certain respects. Tghe lift off in FWD cars seemed accurate, but you could put full lock on the cobra, handbrake it and then apply full 'throttle' and it wouldn't doughnut. Never quite understood why nothing seemed to spin under power. And yes, the TC settings were off!

Had a very quick go on Forza 2 the other day and the dynamics of that seemed to lie somewhere between the two.

So yeah, for someone who hasn't played a computer game in years.... What's good these days? smile

edit: Here's another thought - theres even a vaguely amusing driving game on my phone now called Juiced. Are there any others out there for phones? It's a great way of wasting time at the office in between PH posts biggrin

rFactor all the way. I think the website is www.rfactor.net. Also, check out www.rfactorcentral.com to see the available user made mods for it.
