Thanks lads for a great session last night - v.v.funny smile

Here's a couple of still from the dancing Gallardo's at Tsukuba:

Here's what happens when you meet head on at about 120mph hehe

Point of impact

The impact sends both me and Gridlinked's hello kitty gallardo back and up

...a LONG way smile

Unfortunately for Gridlinked, he then meets Fidgits as he careers backwards:

Resulting in another massive impactathon hehe

Happy daze wink

Nice hit gentlemen.

A point to note, the Kitty-llado has somewhere north of 800bhp, which means I'm doing 130mph at the top of third by then end of that straight, so I suppose 90mph at about that point, and simply had nowhere to go. I reckon impact speed was something like 160-180mph. And then Fidgits finished the job off.

Very, very funny. smile

Looks like a somewhat unrealistic physics model based on an elastic collision though, which is surprising.

The physics are quite good up to a point, you can do what you like and the cars won't turn over, even body roll is minimal, I guess the collisions are outside of what the phyisics engine knows what to deal with, but the feel of the car as you drive around "normally" is good, the banger races are not really my cup of tea anyway.

I'm guessing that 130mph head on impact accuracy wasn't the highest priority the development team had.

The car still ran after this (although slowly....)

It was a "for real" post, yes. I've heard so many people going all wanky about how great the physics model is in Forza, how "real" it is, and then see pics of this (I've not played Forza, at all...although I'll be purchasing a shiny 360 pretty soon I think).

Was just surprising that the model for a high speed crash was sooo far from anything realistic.

As I've said before the game has a lot of shortcomings.

If you think 190mph combined speed is bad. Try 440mph. hehe Nurburgring. Paul and I obliterated each other.

To be fair unrealistic simulating of 200mph head-ons does not really detract from the game - they don't happen very often wink

The physics model is actually very good for low speed collions (i.e. those that are actually more likely to happen in real racing)
