Not played any for ages really, mainly just rFactor and so forth on my old system.
Now I've spend £1100 I want some new games to make it all worth while.
I've got STALKER on the list, just wondering if there are any others to try out. I think I'll re-play HL2 on hard just because it was a good laugh before.
I see Crysis and Bioshock are out soon (ish), any others I should take a look at?

For multiplayer fun try Battlefield 2142, you can download the demo and play online to see if you like it.

Test Drive Unlimited looks fantastic but I have had an assortment of problems with it on my machine.
The two worst problems are;
1. The graphics go wonky every so often and I then have to alt-tab out and back in (not good in a race).
2. If there is more than 2 online players within half a mile the game stops and then suddenly start again about 5 seconds later, in the mean time my car has driven through an assortment of objects.
It's a shame because I think the game has massive potential.

Play it on a 360 then and save the PC for spank and bank The two worst problems are;

Yeah I have TDU, had some issues getting it installed properly (and remembered to backup my root C files before uninstalling it the awful program).
Doesn't look as good as I hoped it would with HDR and 4xAA etc, but it runs very nicely so will be much nicer to play the game through properly

When downloading anything large I would suggest you use a download manager and then if the connection is broken or you need to stop the download you can resume it later. They are also normally much faster at downloading stuff as well.
Here is the free one I use;

Thudd, I can't believe they allowed the PC game to go into production with so many bugs. Shoddy work. Playing a good game on the PC wins hands down for me against consoles

Thudd, I can't believe they allowed the PC game to go into production with so many bugs. Shoddy work. Playing a good game on the PC wins hands down for me against consoles

TDU PC is so good but so bad.A game with real true potential. Updates and new cars would be great, but it just falls short.
Installed, missed the directory location and put it to prog files... nooo. Stopped, after muting the damn system volume as the install music is full blast and no way to turn it off.
So, stopped the install, but it leaves the registry full of junk and also the HDD.
Install to the right location now, yay, get into game, you need to update, doh. OK, 'install now', goes to windows for you and starts download, download run, won't update as the game is running. But now it thinks the game is updated when it's not, so I can't run the update!
So now I backup root C files as when I uninstall it'll delete them. It did, copied them back, and reinstalled, it remembers my profile too (somehow, dodgy registry entries no doubt, but I clicked uninstall, clearly not getting rid of everything!)
So now it's running, at last!
So if they fixed stupid bugs like above, and the addon cars were a bit more accurate and had good sounds (RS4 is crap), then I'd be much happier! I'd even pay £5 a month for an online profile, like WoW, and have decent content ever month and keep the game fresh and modern with the latest/more cars!

Even the installer didn't work properly for me at the start. It then took 30 minutes of fiddling to get the game going and after that another hour of wasted time looking for an answer to the problems I was/am suffering.
Looking at the forums for the game is a depressing experience with so many different people posting different problems.
A missed opportunity, although did I say battlefield 2142 was good?
Fifa 07 is also surprisingly good.

ARMA is a great war simulation - like a big complex & incredibly configurable & moddable non-arcadey battlefield type game.
Currently though, I'm extremely hooked on Civilisation 4 with the new Beyond the Sword expansion pack (came out at the end of July). It's like a new game. If you like strategy, its the one to get.

Uhhh, not keen on that game... well, Civ3 ended up me having weird sleep issues, dreams about isometric grids and troop distributions and arghhh! Honestly did just stay awake at night playing the game in my head and dreams... just one... more... turn! Yeah, I also find myself playing it in my dreams. Disturbing. Still, I have to recommend it as its just sooooo goooood. And much improved and changed since number 3.
If you want a game that makes you go "oooooooh priddy!" and actually has good gameplay to back it up (about 300 hours) Oblivion is still a goodie. Sadly the PC market has slowed this year, with Microsoft and Sony leaning on the major studios to come up with stuff for their boxes first.

I put mine in c:\games
All my games go in games, then they can easily go into d:\games (on the slower drive) when I'm not playing them anymore, then I can just keep the fast raptor clear of things I'm not playing...
Lots easier than the weird names games go into like prog files, atari, eden, tdu or something equally long winded and pointless
