I've just pre-ordered this as it's released on my Birthday. So it's a gift from me to me.

Anyone else going to purchase it?

Yeah I might do, might try and see if blockbuster have got a deal going on. Otherwise might try and and find it cheap somewhere.

Yup I will.

I've actually just gone out and bought Halo and Halo 2 to remind me of the story etc, I have to say I'd forgotten how good Halo was (is).

It really does have a good story line, and whilst some areas of the game are maybe a bit too repetitive, it certainly is a challenge.

I hope Halo 3 is up to the task, I've not played online with yet either so no idea if that's any good?

Definitely buying. Halo 3 beta was the most fun I have had on my 360 so far.

I will definitly be playing it.

Halo was the best FPS I have ever played. Halo 2 had a weaker story line and, in places, poorer battles, but was still very good.

it was fun but i felt the graphics were a bit disappointing. Hopefully on release they will be upto Bioshock standards.

Yeah, the stuff on Kotaku and elsewhere indicates that it's been polished up, but to be honest, I'd take jaggies and 16 player battles over fancy gfx effects in 1-player. The buzz of storming the enemy base, all of us charging in on Warthogs, ATVs and on foot was something special.

Yeah, it was in the beta, but only on Big Team Battle mode.

You can play in 4 player co-op mode too, which I suspect will be pretty epic.

This is the game I've been looking forward to the most. It is the reason I own a 360, I even have a countdown with post-its on my desk, a bit too far?? not far enough, Ive even booked a week off work on its release, Roll on september 26th!!!

Subscribe to the bungie podcast if you havent already, and have a look every friday night (around 11pm) for the weekly update.

I dont think I have ever looked forward to anything as much as this. I still play halo 2 almost daily, and thats been since launch.

my son has just started plaing halo on the original xbox.
Needless to say he needed me to help him out on some of the harder bits...Wow I forgot how bloody good this game was.
It just has such a great feel and the game hangs together so well. Plus I could throw plasma grenades all day.

Yep I'm up for Halo3. Halo 1 and 2 are some of the few games I've played again and again and since having a 360 Halo 1 and 2 games' graphics have been enhanced. The Halo series is the best thing to come out of the US since the Simpsons. Plus there is freedom to do tricks after you've finished the game and explore the landscapes. Any game series that provides some zoning out of the 'real' world has my thumbs up.bandit
