PS3 and Home Network

Hey Guys

Is it possible for me to link my PC and PS3 so that I can use the PS3 to view media that's stored on my PC? I'm thining photos and divX movies.

I don't have any wireless capability so would be using ethernet cable, hopefully that will keep things simpler.

I'm hoping that each machine can see eachother on the network and access each other's hard drives.

PS3 doesnt play DivX. Photos will be fine though. as will WMV etc.

How do I connect them together, and how can I convert from divx to that file format you mentioned?

Just plug a crossover cable into both, or get a hub/switch and plug them both into that. or use wireless, works well on the ps3.
