Why o why couldn't they just release it as a multiplayer demo? They've tried to overhype the game and its worked. I would like to play this beta to see what the game will be like, but I'm not pre-ordering a copy at GAME for them to send me a code.

Anyone have a code they don't want? hehe

I've pre-ordered it, but am not sure if there are any "slots" left. Game apparently send out a weekly email with codes on, so hopefully I'll get one. I'll let you know if I do / if it's any cop.

Do you know anyone with the beta? Theres a glitch where anyone in the beta can give the beta to someone else although it means recovering gamertag so you have to trust them well(search for it in google). I just got in legit cant wait to play it rotate

Yeah I heard about that last night, I just can't understand why they don't just release it as a multiplayer demo for everyone.

Its bloody EA at their finest I tells ya.

I have my code and the game rocks smile

As for not releasing as a straight demo, I imagine the idea of a beta is to test things properly before release.

If they just chuck it out as a demo, for one thing, they would have no control over load testing and if it went wrong, they would have no idea how many users triggered it.

I think it is good it's not a demo as it implicates that there is a proper testing structure in place. They are testing the ranks as well if you have a read up on it.

Right, spent a bit more time on this last night and this morning.

I really like it. They've got the ranking system well worked out, there's enough in that to entice you back on line to improve to get new toys, guns etc and also the challenges encourage use of particular weapons and style of play etc but don't force them.

I've only played free for all at the moment, but can see some great PH battles if the Team death-matches, especially the "Tactical" battles become popular on here.

A good effort I'd say, and I suspect may leach some play from Halo due to the "depth" of its multi-player game.

Actually...I love this game!

I can't stop leveling up! Won my first match this evening. I'll have to do it all over again though when it's launched as they're going to wipe the scoreboards - a good plan I think as otherwise it'd be unfair.

Any other PH'ers on the Beta?

I've had a couple of games, it seems like it has great potential with friends (plays very nicely inded) but playing with randoms everyone else is just too good. They all have lazer sights and all kinds of funky stuff to my basic gun. BOOOOOO

I'd still wager that Battlefield 2 did all this even better on the 360 aages ago but just never got the promotional support which is a shame

But BF2 on the PC was miles ahead of the 360 version, and even that was pretty flawed, constant leaderboard resets were one of the big gripes. This seems to nail low-level man to man combat much better than BF2 did, BF2 was great as an overall experience, but the man to man stuff was a bit diluted with everyone charging around in tanks and choppers.

The aiming system for me on the COD games has always been absolutely perfect, feels a lot more weighty and accurate than Halos for example (and it's not just the sensitivity I mean). Personally I can see me putting in more time on the multiplayer on this than I will be on Halo 3 as they've got everything spot on in my opinion.
