When I got home from work on friday RE4 was waiting for me. I'd heard a few people saying it was a good game and I fancied something I could get my teeth into on the Wii so had ordered it a few days earlier. I've never been into the Resident Evil series as I generally like games that are a little less linear, but after playing this on friday night I couldn't put it down all weekend, it's brilliant. Anyone else playing/played it?

I got half way through it on the GC before giving up 'cos I couldn't aim quick enough to kill all the bastard monks in one of the big ambush bits...

I imagine with the Wii controller it'd be a much more enjoyable experience - has anyone played it on both?

They all *look* childish. I'd suggest that they're not...

I know they play well but the grahpics don't do the machine justice. I love playing red steel but now there are very few games that appeal.

Just got a Wii with Zelda, Paper Mario, Wii Play and Wii Sports, apart from RE4 can anyone recommend some of the better games I should get?

Metroid Prime is supposed to be good.

Doesn't the fact that you actually like playing red steel suggest you have no gaming taste?

having worked in games graphics for the past few years, im not impressed by anything thats availible to buy at the moment.

a games console is just that, for games, to play, not to look at.

it help if its pretty but its more important that the game is good.

as for reccomending a game, mario striker football is good, league one is quite easy, legue 2 is quite hard, not got passed it yet, and it has online play.

I'd go so far as to say that there really aren't any good FPS games on the Wii full stop, Metroid Prime: Corruption will be good when it arrives. Best games on the Wii currently are Paper Mario, Zelda and Resident Evil (although Resi is a 3 year old Gamecube game that I played to death 3 years ago..)

Red Steel is shockingly bad though and it's not just me that thinks so, almost every review I've seen of it rates it no higher than 6 out of 10.

Resident Evil is an amazing game series!

Resident Evil zero on the Game Cube (re-make of the very first Resident Evil) was the best, IMO.

Res Evil 2 on the PS was also amazing.

Am yet to try Res Evil 4 - but I am sure it's an ace game.

Resi Zero was actually the prequel to the original Resi.
There was the original resident evil remade for cube, but it was called, wait for it, Resident Evil wink
Haven't played all of Zero... frown
Resi 4 is very good, although I've yet to play on Wii (I completed on cube)

Thats fine if you always take what magazines say as gospel,i make a choice these days as i'v bought games rated as superb and hated them and loved games rated as shit, each to his own.
