Debate away and sort something out. As I said I won't put forward any mod suggestions, you can pick choose or vote on anything you like.

The EuroF3 cars are pretty cool I've found. Very driveable, easy to race. Default setups seem well balanced and friendly, so perhaps go for a "fixed setup, bar the gear ratios and wing settings which are free" gentlemans agreement to make the field more even, and fair for those with limited practice/setup time.

I've not driven the rTrainers - but apparently they're pretty fun to drive. Formula BMWs look fun too. Same fixed setup rules could apply. I like the look of the Formula Nippon 2007 cars, but they're pretty quick...perhaps too much so for close and fun racing.

How would the general concensus of opinion be if we used the Porsche Carrera Cup 2007 cars? I know the season before last was PCC2005, but I love the way the 2007 ones drive, feel I can really drive them hard and not make silly errors! It might be the setup that they use, but I find them much more driveable and less skittish than the 2005 ones. That would be my first choice for the league.

And I really will make an effort to join in the racing this time around - my circumstances are a little different, and I'm free on Sunday evenings now!

Actually, scratch everything I said above. I just downloaded the Formula BMWs, and they are the best thing ever! That's a 3rd vote from me for the BMWs!

I don't think so... The F1 BMW Sauber is, as are the Formula-Ford-a-like trainers. The BMWs are made by a modder group, simulating the 1.2 litre 140bhp bike engined "junior" single seaters.

I thought opening it up to suggestions from all and for someone to take up the organising might allow those who moaned about the V8 Supercars to suggest their own cars this time, but it seems I was wrong.

Is anyone going to take up the baton and make a decision on what to race? Or is there no longer any interest?

I would do it but going through the process of a house move at the minute and the PC is all packed up frown

Give it a few weeks and I'll be back on the pace....

I'm definately up for the next season, just trying out various mods at the moment, most of the newer ones seem to be giving me performance problems at the moment though frown

With 10+ cars on screen no matter which detail level/ resolution/ video setting I'm using my PC stutters when the cars get bunched in front of me frown

I have no problems with the older mods like PCC05 and GP79 but both PCC07 and Formula BMW stutter, even in 1024x768 with all settings medium and no AA, where as PCC05 is perfect with 20+ cars at 1920x1200 everything on Max or Full and 2xAA.

Maybe time to rebuild my PC rolleyes

However both the PCC07's and the Formula BMW's are nice to drive, although I still like the Galardo's smile

Ok i'll throw something down here. I like the gallardos and so do a few others. They're pretty easy to drive (4WD + launch control etc) so not too much of a handfull. With regard to organisation, i could post results and points on my website but im not in the position to organise everything. I would keep the points up to date as mush as bandwidth (UncleDave wink) allows.

So im saying this, shall we race the Gallardos on british tracks?

I've not tried the Gallardos yet... I'm enjoying the low powered single seaters at the minute - so I'm going to stick my vote in the Formula BMW camp!

I do however like the British tracks theme... Mainly as they're all quite small and interesting to drive on. So how about an initial calendar:

- Castle Combe
- Snetterton
- Oulton Park
- Cadwell
- Hitchin Street Circuit
- Mallory Park

Plus a couple of leftfield choices:

- Goldenport - short, fantastic to drive, quite "British Club Circuit" in character.
- Birmingham Motorplex - very good to drive, and has a British name!

And, I'm in love with Macau at the moment, although it doesn't fit in with the British theme....

(My only suggestion) What about hacking around in this old beasty. Took me all of....30mins to convert from Lightwave model to in-game last night for fun with basic workings.

Thumbnails, clicky for biggness.

Ps. I am joking of course. wink

FWD - 20s/30s Grand Prix cars would make an excellent Mod... That there <insert carname here> looks pretty good for 30 minutes of hacking around. You should turn your hand to a little mod with a few oooold GP cars in once the Tuscans are finished...!

I found a free Bugatti model as well so it might be a goer when I have more time, trouble is when I can see something like this (complete model) just needs to be converted and put in game only takes a short bit of time I give it a go smile

Oh and as for physics, engine and tyres it's running all the Tuscan data (easy to copy over and use) so I can use this as a test bed biggrin
