Actually I was really lucky as the shop in Jersey had a promo on that day.

I managed to walk in to HMV in St Helier on the Weds of the week that Halo 3 was released (think it was 26th Sept??) and they had a stonking offer on. Buy the elite that day for £255 and get Halo 3 free. I was crafty and used my student (ha ha) card to get an extra %10 off, making it around the £230 mark. The only thing that bothered me was getting it back home. But as I was on the fast ferry from Weymouth and not flying I just took it on in a big bag as 'hand luggage'. Oh yes!! Them things weigh a tonne though.
My only draw back came when I got to the end of the day (after lugging it and my suitcase around for 6 hours) when my Sciatica returned and is now giving me pain, but it was worth it lol! True gamer at heart me!!
Edited to add that because it was such a good deal, and my fiance loves a bargain, she didn't mind at all
