Well, both lots of images are jpegs, and as a consequence rendered in pixels 
One way to tell the video game is the sharpness of the (specular) reflections between materials, for instance, the real photos show more blur when with glass reflections (i presume this is dirt or something, or the fact your dont wax glass), the GT5 one shows the same sharpness of reflection for all (reflective) materials [this is probably to avoid either, a) having to run multiple blur filter stages on the (presumably) cubic reflection maps, or b) to avoid rendering multiple cubic reflection maps]
