I'm going to get a PS3 at lunchtime today and I'm going for the 60G version with two games one of which will definitely be Resistance: Fall of Man, the other one has to be a choice out of Formula 1 CE, Motorstorm or Heavenly Sword. Just wanted peoples opinions on those three games please?

Cheers

All distinctly average, give it another few weeks surviving on the games you have and wait for Ratchet and Clank or Drakes Fortune. Hopefully they will set a date for the PS3 version of the Orange Box soon and that will be another option.

Just re-read it and realised you're getting the pack with 2 bundled in, I'd say heavenly sword, as it's newer and once you've ripped through it in a few hours you should still be able to get a decent enough trade-in price for it.

Heavenly Sword really sucks. I'd avoid it.

None of the titles are brilliant though, they're all pretty mediocre, hence why I don't own a single game for my PS3 yet.

Just thinking that the trade-in value for Heavenly Sword is likely to be higher than the other two as it's only been out a few weeks.

Well, motorstorm is pretty good. Not as good as Forza, but its certainly playable. I must have put quite a few hours into it! Even my wife likes it, and she really isnt into games.

May I suggest an Xbox 360 with Halo 3 and Forza 2??

Just nothing decent out for the PS3 yet that isn't already out for the others.

Yeah that really would be the sensible choice, but I didn't want to be the first one to suggest it.

Sony pisses me off the way they release games in Japan about 6 months before they are released here.

If thats what your after then go for it.

Just dont be expecting good games for a while. I'd wait till the price comes down and some good games arrive.

Should be everywhere although that is for the 40G version which lacks some of the features of the other models, including backwards compatability.

Hmm, loses a selling point there, I went for a PS2 because it would play all my PS1 games. Not that I have any PS2 games left, but it would have been nice anyway.

Yeah I think its a mistake but for some people its not a problem. It also has 2 USB ports instead of 4 and doesn't include a multi memory card slot. The 60G version is £70 more but comes with two games and all the features

Apparently Sony are phasing out the 60G version and expect that their stock will be gone by Christmas, not sure how true that is though.
