Played the demo of this and it is quite fun. Seemed to be a bit better than the previous underground and carbon games that I lost interest in.

Quick question, does anyone know if either of the versions on play-asia are region free?

Steve Evil: Whats the site that you use that tells whether or not an Asian game is region free?

Cheers guys.

Anyone else going to be getting it?

Most EA games aren't region-free so I wouldn't think this would be.

Video games plus have a blog where they check all the American games to see if they work on a PAL machine which is here:

http://vgplus.blogspot.com/

As for the Asian region-free games, generally play-asia get it bang-on before release, but Microsoft seem to have cottoned onto this and are making them change it on the site so it is advertised as Asia-NTSC only.

As for the Orange Box I just took a bit of a gamble, the American one was region-free and a couple of people had said on other forums that their Asian copy was region-free, but there was no solid confirmation anywhere.

Bottom line is that if it's region-free for the American copy 90% of the time the Asian copy will be region-free too, but there will be the odd game that isn't (Gears of War I think is one example).

found the demo a bit dull. comes across as a step away from the NFS games theyve created over the last 3 or 4 years, so i acnt see myself rushing out to buy this anytime soon

Is it more of a return to the hot-pursuit style game?

No, its split into drift, drag, topspeed and regular cicuit racing, there've gone away from the dodgy "illegal racing" thing but not back to the old days of being chased about by cops.
I quite like the look of it, sort of a cross between american(including burnouts at the strip) and japanese racing.

I am looking forward to playing it (probably on PS3 though). I am most interested in the reintroduction of drag racing, it was always a good fun way to use up downtime during LANs etc.
