Which racing game to get? PS3
Discussion
I have a dilema. I want to get a decent driving game on PS3, but which one, SEGA Rally, Juiced 2 Hot import nights, or Colin Mcrae DIRT.
It seems a no brainer, DIRT seems to be the pick of the bunch, would like to know other peoples ideas. This is Pistonheads after all, got to own a good driving game, well to tide me over until GT5 comes out, whenever that might be.

There's not a lot out there.
I downloaded the sega rally demo. Nah. Very arcadey which is what they were after I guess. I couldn't stand the permanent sideways action. Very colourful, but no long term interest.
Dirt trailer gave the impression the game would be amazing. The demo graphics were poorer than expected, and the handling was suspect. I had it on pre-order, played the demo, then cancelled.
Motorstorm I like. It pushes the graphics really well. It's smooth. Perhaps lacks a bit long term variation, but online it's good fun.
F1 is actually very good. But you have to like F1 first, and it's last season now. Also good fun online. Handling and graphics are excellent and it's more of a challenge. An acquired taste though.
Set up a Jap account on your PS3 and download GT5 Prologue demo. There's a thread in this forum somewhere. I like it a lot.
Sad to say it, but the best driving game I've been playing recently is PGR4 on the x360. GT5 has a lot to deliver!

I got my PS3 last week, and once I got into it, have been having a good laugh playing Motorstorm. It is quite a challenge once you get past the first 15 or so events (about 720points) but a good laugh online.
Over 400,000 online players showing at some points in the EU lobby!!
You can download extra items for free such as the haloween livery for one of the trucks and a different game mode. Other things can also be downloaded for a couple of quid.
F1 is really, really hard. Looks pretty, and drives nicely, but it is a big challenge to be consistent at the speed of F1 whilst not hitting anything and knackering your car!
As said Sega rally looks awful from the downloaded demo. I haven't tried any others.

Enjoyed the Dirt Demo, and got the game the next day.
Lots of fun, Esp as im not a big rally Fan.
Shame there is no real on-line racing. there are some good people on-line.
It's a hard game to master, plus you realy have to learn the tracks. If you want to get anywhere.
Not tried SegaRally, but sounds like I won't enjoy it. as not into arcade racing.
But the GT demo's are good, but after a week, you want more than 5 car's and one Track, and no stats.
F1 is good if you like F1, but its too easy with the aids and too hard without. but there's not much new stuff compared to the PS2 version. so if you have the PS2 version, not sure it's worth the upgrade.
Ridge Racer 7, is just complete poo.
NFS Carbon. is a PS2 game. but is a good for a arcade driving game.
I've gone old school, and currently dusted off TOCA3 and been playing that, great fun, more realistic when you come off track than GT5P-demo.
