How will they get better than this?! Colin McRae Dirt
Discussion
Life changing experience on Saturday:
Mate brought round Colin McRae Dirt for the 360. We happen to have the microsoft wheel and pedals for the 360 and a 50" plasma screen.
Do driving games get any better than this? I remember thinking PitStop on the C64 was amazing. Then the original Colin Mcrae Rally for PS2, I cant see how they will move on from what appears to be driving game Nirvana.
Highly recommended if you havent played it already

Nope, I thought the driving model was pretty terrible. A modern take on Richard Burns rally would go down much better with me.
I think youre right, the driving model isnt great. The change of dynamics between FWD and 4WD isnt really what youd hope etc.But for realism I have Forza2. For slick, arcade style laughs with a few mates and some beers, I reckon CMR is the business.
Its soul destroying watching a non-gaming, non petrol-head mate trying to get interested in a sim like Forza. They lose interest in minutes while you tell them if they adjust the torque bias to the rear a bit more and add 2psi to the near side tyres, they might find it handles better.
But Dirt had us in stitches, it was very playable and easy to get on with. The stadium racing and rally cross are nice additions too. Like a TOCA for offroad.
