amiga 500 losers... I had a 500+
I had a 500+ with a 52meg GVP harddrive and a whole extra 1mb of ram in it. Remember those? They were actually worthwhile as they made the workbench usable - it was just a shame they cost as much as the Amiga itself. crackthatoff said:

Wasn't into computers much, went round to mates' houses in the '80s to play ZX Spectrum games... Then one bloke got hold of an Atari ST shortly followed by an Amiga 500 and I was hooked. Spent hours playing Xenon 2 Megablast, Lemmings and Alien Breed and had to have one myself.
Bought a 500+, broke it a week later by plugging in the joystick with the machine already powered-up. Plead innocence at Currys, got handed an A600 replacement. That was the Mini-Me Amiga without a numeric keypad. Great, until you tried to play a game that required it.... Doh!
Anyway, spent years afterwards playing the greatest Amiga game of all time:
Syndicate.
Gauss guns, persuadertrons and members of the public running around screaming whilst on fire. Brilliant.
Sold the 600, bought a 1200, then shortly afterwards discovered the PC whilst at Uni. Started off playing Geoff Cramond F1GP on my 2nd hand 286...
