I know we havnt come to an agreement about a league, but surely this doesnt mean we can dismiss rFactor from our online meeting altogether? There was a time (which ended not long after i started) when weds night at 8pm was the time to be around. I've just booted it up for the first time since the V8 league and forgot just how much i enjoy playing it. So whos up for bringing rFactor back as another option for online races?

I should stress at this point i have no access to the servers to host races or even know if they still exist hehe

I was thinking that earlier.. I wouldn't mind the odd race every now and again. Trouble is, i'm never really at home at a consistant time.

Considering selling the wheel to be honest* as it seems to have gone down the pan.. and rFactor is taking up 12GB on my (80GB paperbag) hard drive.

*ahem, Logitech Momo with New and "uprated" Pedal, feel free to email me and have a chat on a completely unrelated topic. By uprated pedals, I mean shoved a chunk of wood in them to make the throttle stiffer. Will include a squash ball to add brake feel hehe.

UncleDave! how are you? havnt spoken in ages!

Anyway back on topic, i didnt mean a consistent thing, just the 'anyone up for rFactor tonite?' kind of post. I just tried out my custom skin Porsche and remembered the 1st race i did. A new league could be possible i suppose, but we would need an organiser. Wonder how FWDs tuscans are coming along?

PS. Dave, you know its time for a G25

To be honest I've just try to let anyone who moaned about me choosing the V8's last time to speak up and choose what they want. Hasn't happened has it.

My gaming rig has been down for the last 2 weeks whilst I waited for a newer bigger PSU to power it, think Sizewell B. But I'm still rFactoring, working on the Tuscans working on the 1920's Brooklands cars, AMM cars and others. Plus racing about in Radicals and more.

Is anyone going to suggest something or is it going to be left to me, because I'll chose something and get it started and stuff anyone who moans about it. smile

I'm still running a Caterham league on a Friday evening, a new season starts on the 4th Jan with R500's on Saturdays. We get between 15 - 24 drivers each week for the Academy races on the Friday, more are always welcome.

Funnily enough, I was talking to Andy the other day about the lack of rFactoring recently. I'm certainly interested in joining in over the next couple of weeks although I'm very much out of practice!

I'm not around right now but will be available from Saturday. Do we still have a server? If not I think I can host a small group.

No, check out the sticky "where to find...." thread on here. They are an addon for RaceX.

Which Caterhams? GTR2 converts or scratchbuilt version?

Either way they both work for me, perhaps you have updated rFactor to v1.255 but not the version that updated the sounds?

Just moved and found that the only place in the house with enough space is the attic ! Have just finished boarding it out and have set my PC up - still not perfect but it will do for now (although it is a bit cold up there !)

I'll go with anything - the Caterham league sounds good - otherwise i'm easy.

9pm on a Sunday still the best time for everyone ?

must wait for Long Way Down to finish though.

Got the sound sorted on the Caterhams, but no engine sounds for the Radicals - Any idea's? The gear shifter and tyre noise is there.

I fully intended to sort out a new league after this series of top gear finishes, which is in a couple of weeks I think.

I recall the selection of the v8s was quite democratic, so I'll come up with some alternatives and we'll have a vote, easy peasy.

Got my engine sounds sorted now. Are there any other ways to get online other than from the menu? There aren't that many public servers running now, and sometimes my matchmaker thing doesn't pick any servers.

If anyone is wanting to get into rFactor and the world of online / offline sim racing then i'm selling my rig including thrustmaster rallye gt steering wheel and copy of rFactor if i can transfer the licence. If you'd like more info then please contact me, i'm probably already bending the rules posting this so won't go as far as sticking the ebay link in here.
