New Xbox?

Out of the big 3 consoles I am aware the Xbox 360 has been out the longest. What is the standard life for a modern day console and when I can expect to get all excited about a new Microsfot system?

Be at least 2010 I reckon, they've not made their money back on the Xbox 1 yet.

There possibly won't be a new generation of games console as they should be able to stream games directly to your set-top box in the next few years.

Sony recon 10 years for the PS3 but IIRC MS are aiming for 5 years or so.

10 Years for the PS3 probably isn't a bad estimate, we'll see a new one after about 7 years (possibly earlier) but they'll continue to support the old one, much like they're still doing with the PS2 which is still seeing plenty of new releases.

I think 2010 is probably a good estimate for the next XBox, but if you're intent on waiting for the 'next big thing' then you're never going to have any fun in the here and now.
