Xbox threw in the towel
Discussion
Bugger - I knew it would end up like this!!
But I purchased 3 year product warranty last year with argos when microsoft were only dishing out 1 year so I have 3 options.
I cant remember exact date but I am hoping its inside 1 year that means I could go into argos. Hand them the console and go home with a new one.
Or if (knowing my luck its out by a few days) I have to claim on the incurance does any one know how this works with argos?
Would it be easier with microsoft? I have 3 years with both but I did pay for one!
Help greatly appreciated. Gutted if I am just out the 12 months as I will have to wait to get the bastard thing back!!
Thanks

If you take it back to the shop, remember and remove your HDD or swap it in the store. You will have to be signed on to xbox live if you want to play your purchased (arcade) games as a new xbox will confuse your downloaded content, if xbox live goes down you have no full version arcade games
because the original xbox your purchased the game on will be in the big xbox cloud in the sky. Just worth noting. Also (Accidentally) forget to put your controller with it, and get a new one

gamestation wouldn't let me do that, they told me that the the exchange would have to be the whole system including HDD, so I lost all my game saves
