Xbox Live through a 3G usb modem?

I'm unable to get broadband at my current address. I do have a t-mobile contract with web and walk. If I were to buy a usb modem or data card such as this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/T-MOBILE-WEB-N-WALK-COMPACT-... would I be able to connect the xbox up to my laptop and use live as normal?

I was wondering about this myself, theres only 2 pitfalls I can think of, first is the latency...not sure what they are like on these modems? Second is regarding VOIP, unless you have the web n walk max this isnt included, imagine you could just play without using the headsets though

From what I can tell trawling through google this will work but I'll need to sign up to web'n'walk max at an additional £22. VOIP is ok under the terms and conditions of this tariff.

What amount of data would an hour of xbox live consume?

just read a story in the paper about a bloke who used his mobile as a modem. he ran up a bill for £27,000 in one month

Quite believe it if he was with Orange, data costs are ridiculous compared to what other companies are offering.

I rang them the other day to get a cancellation cost, when they asked why I wanted to cancel I explained the deals other companies were offering (eg, about £15 for 3gb a month), highest amount of data they could offer me was 30mb at around £10-15 quid a month....The bloke seemed at a loss as to why I would need 3gb, dont think he got the whole phone as a modem thing.

It was with Vodafone, they're only a little bit better than Orange - £7.50 for the first 120 meg, and then stratospheric after that point.

Oranges data tariffs really do suck - £8 gets you 30meg. Its better than their base £3 per meg though.

Ah yeah, forgot Vodafone are pricey too, quite strange really that theres such a big difference in pricing between the companies. 3, T-mobile, and O2 all seem in the same ballpark for there data costs compared to the astronomic costs of Voda and Orange....thought they would have been trying to compete?
