GT4 1000 mile races

I've got a hankering to do one of these over the next couple of days - probably Nurburgring. Any tips?

Probably the best car I have for it is the 'Project' Skyline GTR - I can do consistent 7:45 laps in it without really trying too hard so long as I don't get too lairy...

Some basic maths says 1000 laps / 13 miles = 77ish laps
77 x 7.75 mins = 596 mins = 9 hours 56 mins.

Anyone done this? Or am I mad? Also... I'd hate to spend ten hours of my life on it and not win...

Hmm. Apparently you can only do it on pre 1970 cars, that's rubbish...

well ive just completed the Nur 24h on my own, no B spec. used the Honda S2000LM, got 130 race points for it. laps around the 7:00-7:10 with racing HARD tyres.

Yes hands up do it properly or not at all.

I managed 30 laps of Norchdaille 8min 30 sec ish stuff with a VX220 - the non turbo version, a lot of fun but to be honest after the first hour it was pit stops every 4th lap and after the 1st hour I didnt once go off the track at all so no negative time added on at the end. Next week I'm going for maybe a TVR Cerbera V8 std again 30 laps.
