I have no idea how people on here stand with this game but I have just spend ten minutes at most playing and what a disappointment.
I was expecting the ability to roam freely, do races as you please, modding your car along the way, cop chases and other defining features which I for one have got used to and love in the world of NFS but no, instead you are plonked into a race on a tideous closed circuit track, then when the race is finished you are put straight back into the menu. This quick arcade fun may appeal to some but NFS for years, for me has appealed due to the abilitys to roam and do as you please but it has now decided to switch to being a track racer which puts it directly into the firing line of IMO some rather better and more entertaining games.

....Now wheres Forza beer

Agree and there is another thread on here about it, it's pants but IMO they ruined the series when carbon was released.

The lack of free roaming is a sorely missed feature...as is the huge cityscapes but the modding is fantastic & the drag racing is addictive. Not as complete as the previous titles & other track racers blow it into the weeds...but I still like it for what it is.

It was ruined after NFS on the 3DO tbh! That was a class act.
It had the potential to go on and become the best road racing sim around as
technology progressed.Sadly it ended up being an arcade orientated mess.

Got this yesterday, I quite like the atmosphere created, which makes you feel like your participating in a "race day", and the handling is a bit more grown up now, I'm enjoying this more than PGR4, no cones for a startwink

For me the best NFS was Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2 on PS2, great exotics, cop chases, the lot. Looked amazing for its time as well.

My next best favourite was Need For Speed: Underground 1 & 2. Brilliant level of customisation, proper cars to modify, and a brilliant drifting system that worked really well. It was changed in subsequent undergrounds and they ruined it.

I had most wanted as well, which was fun, but not as good as the other two.
