360 CoD4, can't stand the controller!

Is there any way of using a mouse/keyboard with the 360 and CoD4? I bought it yesterday but I simply cannot get on with the pad to the point I just turned it off

Crap. I don't have a PC unfortunately, just a MacBook Pro (which I don't want to dual-boot) and a big Linux server.

I hated the 360 controler and wanted a keyboard / mouse combo, I was a PC gamer well before I moved over to consoles, my suggestion is to stick with it, you will improve in time.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm an old CS:S player and an FPS just doesn't feel right with a control pad. I gave it my best shot, but even getting through 'training' was a huge pain in the arse! I just cannot aim fast enough, over/undershoot everything, and I get bored very quickly when control is so utterly, utterly poor. I didn't think it would be so bad.

FPS games just don't work on the XBox IMO. Why won't MS release a mouse and keyboard?

How long have you given it? It does take a while but one of those things that needs a bit of practise, i've got to the point where I think I prefer it to keyboard and mouse. Yes the accuracy is down, but I think its at a good level, mouse can seem too easy in some games (vs computer).

I think the comfort/ergonomics are much better on the pad too (in other words I can laze on the couch with a pad but have to sit up at a desk for keyboard and mouse and it does make my wrist ache after a long session----yes I know I have left myself open here....)

You shouldn't be allowed a mouse in the 360 version imho, you can accelerate your aim angle a lot faster compared to a thumbstick.

As has been said, you have to stick with it, it does get easier.

If all other things were equal and you had two players, one using the pad and one on keyboard/mouse, I'd say the keyboard player would kick the crap out of the joypad player. For this reason I'm not sure I'd like to see a keyboard/mouse come out for the 360 FPS games.

It has been sold I'm afraid, must update the ad.

I understand the problems of unfairness with multiplayer games, but I'm so used to a keyboard and mouse with FPS games that I just can't get on with it.

Does look fantastic though, perhaps I'll replace my old games machine ...
