how do i replay the game in veteran? do i just have to play it in vetran via the ARCAD mode?

Bingo.
You get silly points and things on it, but you rack up a kill streak and you get extra lives which is pretty cool

To play it in Veteran I think you need to get better than 20 seconds on the training ship level, then Captain Price will ask you what difficulty level you want to play it on, Veteran should then be unlocked, don't quote me on this though.

After I'd finished it on Hardened I just went to 'Mission Select' (or whatever its called) near arcade on the main menu, picked a mission and it asked me what difficulty I wanted.

It would appear to unlock veteran once you've completed the game on any setting, as I have it unlocked (and am going through on that setting now) after completing it on an easier setting

but where do you slect veteran once you have finished it. once i done it on normal i want something harder and i started again but once i was in the training i couldnt select a harder level when i finished the training course with price

has any one done it in under 20 sec yet. ing hard. i get about 24ish

If your on-line and do the assault course it logs your time against the people in your friends list and everyone else who's ever played the game iirc. I did it in 20.40s and was ranked 4th in the PH alliance.

Guess the name of the captain who did it in 19.00s.

I managed to complete it in 19.xx the other day, and unlock the achievement. Only took about 15 attempts too
Reason I couldn't do it was because I kept sprinting into the door frames and getting stuck!
As long as you don't do that and don't fire off enough rounds to cause you to reload, its quite achieveable.

I just selected "New Game" at the beginning menu, then after the training, selected Veteran.

This on the 360?
