Xbox 360 or PS3?
Discussion
Thinking of getting on of these but not sure which.
I love the Grand Theft series and Gran Turismo series and am tempted with the PS3 because of these as i believe they're coming out (in about 5 years...) and also the blu ray thing.
Whats the best to go for on the basis of future games, rather than just the current ones?

Same decision to make, though I currently have the use of an Xbox 360 in my student house - so I'll have six months to make my choice... I've never really got excited about anything other than racing games on consoles - GT in particular, though the competition are currently eclipsing it in the shape of Forza2, GT5 had best be something very very special indeed.
Really not sure, depends on when GT5 is due I guess?

grand theft auto is being released on X360 at the same time as PS3 (april iirc), and will have exclusive extra content.
Sure gran turismo looks good but if you want a game that actually handles, get Forza2, and if sometimes you just wanna mess about and drift through some beautiful cities then get PGR4.
simple.

Having all the current systems apart from Sony's PSP, I would honestly say that the PS3 will form a league of it's own over the next 12 or so months.
I love the 360 and playing online is great as all my mates have one, but there is no escaping the reliability issues and it the noise it kicks out can only be tolerated for so long (I'm serious, late night gaming is torturous on the 360).
I ran both PS3 and 360 on my HD Plasma, side-by-side (PIP: Picture in Picture) with the same games (NFS: Pro Street, Burnout Paradise, Sega Rally) and the PS3 gives a sharper picture and more vibrant colours, while the 360 looks washed out and blurred in comparison.
The games played in an identical manner barring these minor differences, but after internet research into future developments and releases I can see the PS3 starting to really come into its own and leaving the 360 for dead (in technological terms).
The 360 is the console for the present and the PS3 for the future (My opinion).
Edit: Forgot to mention that although Forza 2 is great and I am getting stuck right into it, I'd rather be (and am) playing GT Concept (yes the demo), because IT IS THAT GOOD!
