Photoshop experts?

Can anyone help with this?. I need to make this map image look as if has some texture on it. so the buildings have a 3D ish effect. I've tried to show what i mean in the image below.

Do you want the (map-)surface just bent, or do you need the exact shape of the buildings?
I'd start with some 3D or CAD software

Yep, I was thinking that's a job for 3-D stuff. You make the 3-D model and then put a 'bumpmap' over it, IIRC.

Just needs to bend up in the built up areas really, seem to remember an old version of KPT plugins having some sort of bumpmap filter but cant find it now.
