Hi guy's,

Though I should get round to sorting out the photo's from my recent trip to Australia.

Went for 2 weeks (not long enough!!) and stayed around Brisbane but travelled to a few places up and down the coast.

Here are a few of my favorites.

An old Coastguard cutter - Maritime museum

Wildlife at the Australia Zoo

Crickey!! watch out for the Croc's!!

Byron Bay - the most easterly point of mainland Australia

Brisbane by night

Comments/critisism appreciated.

What the Yanks do with Shamu and the dolphins, the Aussies have to find a Croc to copy!

2 weeks, bleedin' 'eck!!

I was there last year for a whole year, had the most amazing time and managed to see vitually all the country, including some of the best scenery and landscapes I have ever seen in my life (apart from a trip to Yosemite NP, USA). I still feel as though I need more time there to see some of the bits I missed, especially parts of Western Australia, hopefully sometime in the near future I'll head back there!

Hope you had a good time!

That's my favourite - you just need to go back and get the tops of the buildings in...

Snap! Not long back myself, stayed at Noosa. Didn't get into Brisbane but did drove down to Sydney and the Blue Mountains. You're right, you need a lot of time there.

Hey, another pic of the Byron Bay lighthouse!

The Maheno Wreck on Fraser Island

Mount Warning, just after climbing it (near Byron)

Aussies have a sense of humour when it comes to road signs.

Kakadu National Park, a trully awesome place.

Melbourne Skyline

The Ord River (Lake Argyle) near Kununurra, WA, these were from a 3 day self guided canoe trip me and my travel buddy went on, quite possibly the best experience of the trip, never felt so alone!

Ah, the Falcon again in front of Uluru.

Mental note - must get small'ish tripod....

Nice snaps James, makes me want to go back to see some more. My first visit, I was only there 2 1/2 weeks but had a taste of the place. As well as driving down to the blue mountains and Sydney I did fly to Melbourne to visit some relatives, but only saw Melbourne from the Dandenongs. Next (longer) visit I want to do Melbourne, the coast road, Uluru, the Whitsunday's and the Barrier Reef before going on to NZ (after Simpo's done the reccy).

Yea I know, I did the boring view (well, it wasn't for me), but I was only there two nights. i wasn't the only one doing the boring view:

(competition: Guess the cameras? (all different), and win an out of date roll of film - winner collects )

These two were an English couple who had been shooting wildlife up in Queensland for 5 weeks and thought they would just do 'the' stock view while they were in Oz. Later, we were joined by an Oz snapper who did tip me on some other views.... for another time.

That's quite a difficult one I can make a guess that the one on the left is from the dark side, on the right looks something like a Mamitax medium format - but can't see enough of that one in the middle......

OK, here's another view, my camera, that was on the right, is now on the left.

Bonus points for lenses and f stops used (competition not open to anyone who knows me and my latest toy, that's Simpo, Mr Noble, Ed Hasler and Bacchus 180)

Looks like a Leica R9 with a digital back to me Mr Bacardi?

i'd guess about f4.0 for 1/4 of a second?

not sure on the lens but since it's a leica, i bet it cost a bit

Wow!, You can tell all that by looking at a pic (bu99er, should have stripped the EXIF!). Serves me right for threatening to give away valuable film and posting comp's when I'm full of flu. Unfortunately you don't win until you can name the other two cameras... complete with serial numbers?

What's EXIF then?

Just kidding!

Nice camera anyway, and nice pic of the opera house too. Long lens or is it a crop?
