About to move into my new flat. It's been completely refurbished and i want to get some classy prints to frame and put up in the lounge.

Already got that Tuscan poster from PFest and a Stradale poster to frame but i fancy some prints.

I've got a few photos i've taken with a 3.2mp camera that i'd quite fancy getting printed off to a A4 or bigger size but i don't have a suitable printer.

Any recommendations of the best way to print them off? I guess Jessops but are they good quality? Cheap?

Alternatively, does any PHer with a suitable printer fancy earning a bit of beer money by helping me out?

Additionally, what are everyone's favourite sites (like PR motorsport) where you can buy prints online?

I forsee an expensive but satisfying month ahead

Cheers all

www.photobox.co.uk/ is a pretty good place to go - the prints are good and the service is reliable.

Awesome! Looks pretty cheap too... £4 or so for an A4 print unless i'm completely mis-reading the pricelist

I'll be uploading a few to that site in the next few days then. Cheers

A4 probably

...but as it's for hanging, you could chuck it through photoshop and mess with it using the pixelate filter (amongst others... half tome, dry bruch spring to mind) - then when it's printed out LARGE it'll look like you wanted it to be pixelated...

If you see what I mean.

Hey, me too!

Photobox is excellent btw... may I suggest the stretched canvas frame prints, they look ace on the wall (...and are light - I have some overhangs to contend with).

I can get them done through an associate of mine to a higher standard than photobox, but they may be more expensive. Of course if you wanted to, the benefit would be that you could visit and make sure you got exactly what you wanted - the personal touch. Let me know. (oh they are in central london btw)

Might take you up on that offer mate, much rather help a fellow PHer's company than a faceless company

I've emailed you via your profile

How would these be printed? Chemistry, Ink Jet, Dye-Sub?

Chemistry. I don't own the actual printer, we use a print house.

Something like a Fuji Frontier?

How do you rate the quality of these compared to good quality ink-jets? Is there much of a difference, or is it more down to convenience and price?

I'd like to get some decent prints of some of my shots, and was wondering how other technologies compare to my Epson 2100 (which I think is great).

Which Tuscan poster is that? The canvas printed photo of a Tuscan in front of a country house?

So did I

Kieran asked if he could use that as a showcase for his printing etc, in return for giving me the print after PistonFest. Hmmmm.

Nope. TVR Power were giving away two Tuscan posters. The one i got is a Tuscan getting a bit tail happy around a corner. Great shot.

I also saw your Tuscan print and thought "ah, Luca's Tuscan" Looks awesome

It's a chemistry process almost identical to a "normal" film print. I would rate the quality as matching or exceeding anything I have seen off film, as long as the file is up to scratch, of course. I recommend that you get one (I think its a Noritsu), but you might need to save for a while, I think they are £60k+!!!

Much, much better than anything off an inkjet.
