Well we had some cracking storms the other week didn't we? Thought you'd like to see this:

And yes, it was FLCKING CLOSE!! I'd only just setup the camera in the hope that I might get something but 10 seconds after opening the shutter this almighty crack occured right in front of me. Couldn't believe my luck. I was buzzing (literally) for about half an hour afterwards as the static & huge kick of adrenalin made me feel very odd. And yes my hair did stand on end!

I couldn't believe my luck either. I survived! Talk about a kick of adrenalin....you have never seen a fat old man pedal like I did to get away...and my arms and shoulders hurt like a bastard. I sort of screwed up when my muscles all convulsed - really strange...like a mains shock but quicker and REALLY painful. I still reckon it didn't actually hit me but hit very close by...and I got a groundshock off it...or else I'd be brown bread...

Nice pictures

I find my camera to have excellent storm reducing qualities, in that every time i set it up to try and get some lightning shots they dissapate leaving me with nothing.

As for Don's shocking experience
that was one of the first threads I joined in when I found this place,

Dur, like, yeah right man.

Actually, you'll probably notice the edge of my bedroom window on the right hand side of the pic. I just propped the camera on my window sill pointing slightly upwards and opened the shutter. Simple really, just a huge dose of luck that the strike happened where it did.

Yip, great shot indeed!

I got the photo maker out during the storms but I couldn't get the timing to get the lightening in shot... how did you manage?
