Can I use Apple TV with Macbook pro during PP?
Discussion
slowly working through editing a mountain of pictures i've taken over the past year - since i bought a camera.
using LR on my MBP is fine but rather than lugging my bigger monitor into the front room to view images on, is it possible to work on my macbook and then push the images onto the TV using my apple TV?
that way i can make changes and then view them quickly on the TV to see what they look like with more detail (bigger). then take them off the TV and work a bit more, then preview, then make changes...
not sure if that makes sense or not.
thanks for any pointers.

Can't answer the question about Apple TV but (if you can't), couldn't you run an HDMI cable from the laptop via an HDMI - Thunderbolt adapter straight into the TV and pair them?
Would that then give you the opportunity to then set the desired screen resolution for the TV as the main monitor?
That would avoid having to view large / edit small / view large etc. as it stays on the large screen.

i hadnt thought of that. but, its nice to be doing stuff in the front room whilst the mrs is watching tv - i can just flick stuff up there for a few seconds for a good view then get back to it without disturbing whatever crap she may be watching for too long.
if i take it over completely, i might as well stay in the office with the dog.
definitely gonna consider your option for when she's out though.

You should be able to do this wirelessly using airplay to mirror your laptop screen onto the apple TV. I've not used it on a macbook but it works great on the ipad and iphone.

You can mirror onto the AppleTV from your MacBook using AirPlay. Go to Displays in System Preferences and you'll find the option.using LR on my MBP is fine but rather than lugging my bigger monitor into the front room to view images on, is it possible to work on my macbook and then push the images onto the TV using my apple TV?
