Sony RX100 - which memory card?

Hi, thanks to those who recommended me this camera I have just ordered a Sony RX100 Mk1 from the John Lewis website...

Which is the best memory card to order for it?






Also, anyone have the Sony LCJ-RXF case.. and is it worth £70? ( http://www.johnlewis.com/sony-lcj-rxf-camera-case-... ).

I have a Sandisk Ultra in my Mk1 and Mk3. Never had any problems. 16 for pics 32 if you do lots of vid.

I haven't got the camera yet but can't see anywhere if it comes with any card.

Yep. That'll do. Sold by Amazon so any probs you're covered. Camera doesn't come with a card. (Well neither of mine did).

Oooooh, jus noticed this beast! ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDSDXPA-016G-X46-E... ). Would this be any better than the 40mb/s card for general family / holiday / point & squirt photography ? Seems a bargain at approx £50off r.r.p

You def don't need it for photos. I do some video with the RX and have never had a problem with the ultra write speed. Your call - it *might* write faster - but you have to understand, it's how fast the camera writes as well as the card.

Others who do more vid than me on the RX100 might have further thoughts.

I've just read a bit further into it, and with what you say - bit overkill. I've ordered the Ultra 16gb
