Low light pollution areas near Taunton?

Me and a friend waht todo some astrophotography but a little unsure on where there are locations are are accessible.

Does anyone know any good spots roughly between Taunton and Crewkerne?

Up on the Blackdowns somewhere between Dunkeswell and Smeatharpe would be good. Really not much of note up there at all, and a long way away from any big towns.

Cheers, do you know if there's any local country parks or anything like that? We don't just wanna stand in a random field

Just random fields really. There are plenty of footpaths crossing the hills, as well as a disused airfield at Smeatharpe (a bit of it is a banger racing oval now) so there's plenty of places to stand though. If you want a park you could go for the Wellington Monument, which seems adequate.

Go up on the Quantock Hills only fifteen mins from Taunton
