Insurance for photography equipment?
Discussion
I currently use https://www.eandl.co.uk/ they seemed to be the best price and options for what I needed. Up for renewal in a couple of months though so I will do the usual shopping around.
I found Photoguard to be a nightmare, I think there is even a thread about it somewhere. Basically they refused to believe the lens that I was claiming for belonged to me because I couldn't provide them with a receipt. I'd owned it for about 8 years and had even logged the serial number with them for several years prior to this but apparently that wasn't enough.
Eventually I found a couple of the first pictures I'd shot with the lens which I'd also included on a forum post where I was extolling the virtues of my new lens. This seemed to convince them but considering I was just claiming for a £300 repair their approach seemed a bit excessive.

I haven't had a receipt for 5D MKIII but photos of me holding it and files/photos taken by me with it were enough for them to pay for replacement.Eventually I found a couple of the first pictures I'd shot with the lens which I'd also included on a forum post where I was extolling the virtues of my new lens.
