Photo albums and Kickstarter

I wonder whether any one of you ever used Kickstarter for publishing photobooks.
I have an idea for a coffee table book that I believe might sell well but I have no experience in printing them. I googled usual suspects like photobox, vistaprint etc but is that what people use for let's say 100+ orders? They are very expensive. Of course I do not want to sacrifice quality but there's also value for money factor.

Also, can I use you for a bit of market research?

Have you ever bought a coffee book album/photobook?
How much did you pay? What is "are you kidding me" and what is "pretty expensive but I love the subject and I think it will look very cool"?

Have you tried www.blurb.co.uk who seem to have an excellent reputation and integrate well with Amazon, Ingram and Apple iBooks.

Thank you. They do seem to be integrated with Kickstarter.

I've used Blurb for photo books a few times. It wouldn't even need to run as a kick starter, anything you upload can be priced and Blurb handles the sales side on demand.

As in you don't have to pay until somebody buys one and it's printed out?

As I understand it, they buy from Blurb and you get what you set as the profit above the printing cost. Or you can order in bulk from Blurb, which makes the printing cheaper.
