SD - CF adapters?

I have an older SLR camera that runs on CD cards. While looking to buy more, I came across SD - CF adapters.

Does anyone have any experience of these? Do they do the job, or do they sacrifice too much transfer rate?

I have found a mixed review for a few years back, but hope that new ones might be the way forward.

I have one. Don't really use it often but I bought it for the 1Dx so I shoot on CF and then can transfer JPGs to MicroSD in the adapter in the other slot for editing on the go on the phone and social media sharing.

It does slow it down a bit if you are planning to use it for shooting but unless you do massive bursts of RAW files then I wouldn't worry.
