Got a right result last weekend at the Singapore GP. We found out that the Singapore Flyer (London eye type thing) was free to use for walkabout ticket holders. As it is right next to pit straight we thought it would be rammed but amazed to walk on with no queue (it's busier than this on a normal Monday morning).
Wifey then suggested we watch the last bit of the race the next day and, again, just walked straight on and actually had a pod to ourselves. Didn't bring any camera gear but figured it would be rude not to get a bit of timelapse on the phone. Then, to our joy, the fireworks started just after the race whilst we were basically at the highest point...an amazing view.

I then knocked the footage up into a quick video which doesn't look too bad considering it's just an iPhone6...

Nice, well edited. How did you keep the phone still without any gear?

The 'pod' has a handy steel beam running around it separating the panes of glass on each side. Perfect for just balancing phone or resting up against window.
In hindsite, a roll of tape and square of black cloth would have been perfect to drape behind and block out any reflections but I wasn't actually thinking of getting any footage...

I had a 360 camera last week as well but video quality is not to so good so fireworks probably have looked a bit poor.

I loved it! That's always true - the best camera is the one you have on you smile

Fantastic considering it was 'ad hoc' so to speak. I'd spend thousands on gear and lots of planning to not make anything so good.

I'd have gone with a different backing track, but that's just me

Haha...that's a very fair point. Should have just left the last bit off...
