New Canon 16-35mm lens!

So i got delivered last Friday my shiny new Canon 16-35mm 2.8 Mkiii lens, so i thought id share the first picture taken from the roof top of my apartment.

Very pleased with the result (the sharpness of the lens, not necessarily of the actual picture)

I'm happy with the f4 IS one but a usable 2.8 might be worth it.

I came from a Tomkins 17-35 which I found frustrating , the manual focusing was on a push pull ring and when pushing back to to auto it often didn't connect.
Auto focus , when it did connect, was ok, but this lens is instant , even with the night shot above.
And as mentioned, it seems to me much sharper, although may be partly due to the placebo effect of paying USD2.5k for it:-)
All I know. now is that I cannot blame anything but the user for poor shots;-)

I also have and often use f/4 IS and I have to say I'm still more convinced by already stellar IQ, IS (I use it for videos too) and great VFM than f/2.8 on the new one. But of course that doesn't mean that you experience and needs may vary! I'm considering 11-24mm at the moment, trying to convince myself that I REALLY NEED IT

I have the same lens and I absolutely love it.

Super sharp, great for the detail shots up close and also for wide shots.

Took this with it at the last PH Sunday Service at Mercedes Benz World...





Would like to get a 24-70 2.8 mk2 next to add to the collection.
