Can't delete SD card

Transferred some pics from one laptop to another on an SD card and now there's no option to delete what's on the card. I've been doing this kind of thing for years and never had this issue, so what's happened? Could it have been a camera setting that's locked it or something?

You've knocked the little latch that's on the card so it's read only.

Well bugger me! I never knew that little slide even existed. Do all cards have them?
